What Can You expect at a treatment?

Both Reflexology and Reiki are unintrusive, relaxing therapies.  Only the feet and lower ankles are worked on by the therapist, for Reflexology and I use a non-contact form of Reiki.  It is best to wear loose, comfortable clothes, so that you can relax more easily.

Prior to a first treatment I will conduct a health, diet and lifestyle consultation. This usually takes about 10 minutes and is to help establish what your main reason for you seeking treatment is and if there are any reasons why the treatment might not be appropriate for you. All information recorded will be treated in accordance with the Data Protection Act and will remain totally confidential.

Once the consultation is complete, you will get ready for the main treatment. I use a lafuma, which is a very comfortable reclining chair. I use this, not only because they are so comfortable, but also because they can easily be transported for home visits.

A full reflexology treatment usually lasts between 50-60 minutes. The first few minutes consist of relaxing massage strokes to relax you and prepare the feet for the main treatment. During the main treatment I will use a thumb-walking technique to apply firm, but not painful, pressure to key areas of your feet in a specific order. Reflexes on the feet that correspond with specific conditions may be worked on slightly more than other areas to promote healing.

A full Reiki treatment takes about 45-50 minutes and requires no action from the recipient, other than to relax, as I work over the various regions of the body.

During the treatment I may play gentle, relaxing music to add to the tranquil atmosphere. Many clients feel so relaxed that they drift into a light sleep, others prefer to chat. Either way is fine. A course of at least 4-6 treatments is recommended for most conditions.

Where are the treatments done?

Treatments are usually done at my home in Olton, Solihull, where I have a dedicated space for treatments that is separated from the rest of the house and has beautiful garden and sky views.
